Scientists prove phthalates affects genital formation.

Chemicals found in a host of everyday products, from children's toys to cosmetics, are causing genital abnormalities in baby boys, a study suggests today.

Phthalates are substances used in the manufacture of thousands of products, including plastics, lubricants and solvents.

Chemicals in Everyday Products Link to Male Genital Defects

Now get to work proving if phthalates, including DEHP, may cause respiratory distress, and may effect kidney and liver functions, like I blogged about almost two years ago.

Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes you can do these things. Among them are H. L. Hunt (you possibly know his background), a few other Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or business man from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid.

If this story is true, I'm going to boycott all the Olympics sponsors' products!

YE GUOZHU used to own two restaurants in Beijing. Both were razed in 2001, as was his home in the Yongdingmen district of the city two years later, to make way for parks to beautify the Chinese capital for the 2008 Olympics.

Last year Mr Ye sought permission to protest against such forced evictions. He was arrested for 'disturbing social order' and sentenced in December to four years in jail. His family have not seen him since and do not know where he is held.

Thousands of homes destroyed to make way for Olympic tourists

That's just one person's story; supposedly there's plenty more.

I found a job offer linked from Indeed.com that caught my eye for private investigation training which was free if I told them I was referred by them. The free PI training ad gave an 800 number and also a site to the training folks: International Private Investigators Union. So, did I fall for it? )

I've thought poorly of PETA for quite a while, since reading about their, IMO, child-terrorizing tactics in the name of 'protect the animals'. But I was shocked to learn that PETA puts down animals brought to them, because of how expensive it would be to keep them alive!

That seems very hypocritical to me, and I wonder if people that donate to them would continue if they knew that PETA kills animals for financial reasons?

PETA claims it engages in outrageous media-seeking stunts "for the animals." But which animals? Carping about the value of future two-piece dinners while administering lethal injections to puppies and kittens isn't ethical. It's hypocritical -- with a death toll that PETA would protest if it weren't their own doing.
